The Massachusetts town of Weymouth lies on the south shore about 12 miles south of Boston. It has a rich history and dates back to as early as 1622. The Weymouth Fair was an important part of the Massachusetts Fair Circuit and once had its own racecourse, a 4 furlong oval track with 128 metre home straight, which offered a programme of thoroughbred racing. The final meeting was staged on 23rd July 1972.
